- Before the 2CV, there was the Traction! With this sedan, Citroën revolutionized the automobile world. Front-wheel drive (hence its name) was the name of the game here – many cars of this era were rear-wheel drive. Produced between 1934 and 1957 the Traction was attractive and with many endearing qualities including spacious and excellent road handling. - The Cadillac Series 62 was first introduced for the 1940 model year. During this time, Cadillac began trimming its vehicle lineup, slowly phasing out the lower-end models and the super-luxurious V16 monsters. The consolidation of brands and models was a wise move to survive WWII. The war took its toll on the entire car industry, and Cadillac was no exception. By 1947, Cadillac was only producing 12 models under 4 different series—nearly a quarter of their output from just 6 years earlier. As WWII ended and Americans returned to work, people ordered new cars by the thousands. From 1946 into 1947, there were over 100,000 unfulfilled orders. Weathering the storm of demand, 84% of cars produced by Cadillac in 1947 were the Series 62. Auto World is proud to bring you this 1947 Cadillac Series 62 soft top in a custom metallic green exterior, dark green and cream interior, and tan soft top. Under the hood is a highly-detailed “Monobloc” flathead V8 that produced 150 hp.

- From 1930 to 1940, the Cadillac V16 was the top-of-the-line in luxury and power. It was also the most expensive vehicle coming from Cadillac. Brand new, after all the custom options were chosen, the price of a new V16 Sport Phaeton ranged around $6,500. In today’s money, that eclipses $110,000. Only 4076 total variations of the V16 were built during its 11-year production period. Incredibly, all of them were built to custom specification based on each order. The dual windshields were an iconic design feature of the Sport Phaeton. The V16 engine was unique. The basic structure resembled two inline eight-cylinder motors sharing a common crankshaft. Placed on 45-degree angles from each other, each half of the engine had its own fuel source and exhaust system. All that machinery and power was tamed by the use of an industry-first overhead valve setup with hydraulic adjustment. This made the car extremely quiet during operation.
